Planning Your Visit

Newcomers Gathering
Would you like to know more about Asbury? We would like to connect with you so that we can get to know you better and for you to learn about our church. NEWCOMER’S GATHERING will be held via Zoom on Sunday, January 24th at 4 PM. Please contact the church office or Bob Mattison for the link to Zoom. This is the first step to membership, so if you are thinking about joining, please plan to attend.
Parking is available on Mississippi Boulevard outside of the church. We have two visitor parking spaces and several spaces with nearby handicapped access. You are welcome to use the street parking or park in the marked lot across the street from the church, on the corner of 18th Street and Mississippi Boulevard. The Main Entrance is on the corner of 18th and Mississippi Blvd and is handicap-accessible.
8:30am Traditional Worship
If you arrive for 8:30 worship, you will see many people talking and catching up. Our early service people like to arrive a little early so they have time to visit with one another. Take a bulletin and find a seat wherever you feel comfortable. After the children’s sermon in worship, our youngest worshippers, PreK through 2nd grade, are invited to  StoryTime. The StoryTime volunteer will meet children at the back of the sanctuary as the Pastor dismisses them. They will exit the sanctuary and should be picked up immediately after worship in the children’s library, located in the hallway behind the sanctuary.

9:45am Sunday School Classes
If you arrive for our Sunday School hour at 9:45, (September – May) you will see people chatting in our Upper Fellowship Hall by the West Entrance. Grab a cup of coffee and a donut hole! You can stay in the Upper Fellowship Hall and visit with some of our members, or find your way to a Sunday School room. During the school year, classes are available for children 3 years old through High School. Going down the stairs by the West Entrance will take you to those classes. We also offer adult classes throughout the building.
11:00am Contemporary Worship
If you arrive for 11:00 worship, you will see people making their way into the sanctuary.  Our late service people like to arrive right on time or come from Sunday School. Take a bulletin and find a seat wherever you feel comfortable. You will know it is time for worship when the gathering video ends and the band begins playing. Stand up, sing out, and worship God!
Children are an important part of the church, and we welcome them as part of our worshipping body. If you have small children and want to have your children with you during the service, please take a busy bag from a basket in the back of the sanctuary. Each bag has quiet activities, toys, books, and coloring to keep children occupied when it is hard to stop wriggling. For those who prefer their children enjoy learning about God at their age appropriate level, we offer the following activities during both worship services.
The Nursery is for ages Newborn-4yrs and is staffed with 2 qualified adult attendants available to care for your babies and toddlers during the worship service. You can find the nursery by the Office Entrance (East) on the main level.
StoryTime after the Traditional Service children’s message, children ages preK-2nd grade are welcome to go to the back of the sanctuary where an adult volunteer will take them to the children’s library. Parents may pick up their child immediately after the service.
11:00am-12:00 – Kids Church is for ages K-5th Grade – Located in the Treehouse on the lower level. This worship service is designed to teach Bible applications through the use of music, drama, puppets, crafts and games. Kids Church is offered during the contemporary service.
