Garden Ministry's Harvest is Abundant - 2009

The 8th season of our Garden Ministry was one of the most productive in its history. A total of 25,179 lbs. of vegetables were harvested and distributed to 21 local organizations to include food pantries, community kitchens, and home shelters. Even though the weather was cool and wet, not ideal conditions for some of the vegetables grown, this year's harvest exceeded last year's harvest by over 2,000 lbs. God continues to bless our Ministry.

GARDEN MINISTRY
Asbury’s Garden Ministry will soon be entering it’s 8th year of growing, harvesting, and distributing fresh vegetables to those who are in need in our community. The ministry has touched the lives of thousands over the past seven years; almost 170,000 pounds of fresh vegetables have been distributed to over 30 different organizations to include food pantries, home shelters, and community kitchens. A planning meeting was held on March 12th to discuss plans for the upcoming gardening season as well as lessons learned from last year.

GARDEN MINISTRY RECAP

The Garden Ministry's 7th year turned out to be very successful. Considering that we gave up about 45% of our garden space this year, our harvest of almost 23,000 lbs., about 75% of what we harvested last year, was beyond
our expectations. Truly, God blessed our Garden Ministry this growing season.
