Attend either of our two Sunday worship services. A traditional worship is held at 8:30 a.m., and a praise worship service is held at 11 a.m.

Sunday school for youth and adults is at 9:45 a.m. (except during summer months). See our online calendar for all upcoming events and activities.

Ample parking is available in front and adjacent to the church at 18th Street and Mississippi Boulevard, Bettendorf.

Spring focus for Sunday School classes

We're in the first year of a three-year curriculum cycle in the 2 year old through 5th grade Sunday School classrooms.

The curriculum is called "Wesley," and the focus is on holiness in everyday situations (i.e. allowing God’s Word from the Bilbe to enter our heads and transform our hearts).

The Sunday School teachers are unaminous in their support and enthusiasm for this curriculum, both in terms of student response and teacher preparation.

Here is the scope of each grade level for the spring of 2016:

Children's Ministry Director

We are seeking a person with a strong background in Christian education and experience in children's ministries who demonstrates creative Spirit-Filled leadership qualities.

The position is part-time for approximately 20 hours per week.

The responsibilities will be to oversee the children's ministries in partnership with clergy and Education Commission, coordinate the planning and implementation of broad educational programs for children, research and assess curriculum and make recommendations to the Education Commission.

Grief Share

The Asbury Grief Share Team is offering a grief share class on  

Wednesdays from 5:30pm-7:00pm and

"Surviving the Holidays" on November 8th from 1-3pm or 5:30-7pm. 

Feel free to join the group when your schedule permits.  You are welcome to attend any or all of the classes.

Women at the Well

Women at the Well is a United Methodist congregation which is located within the walls of the Iowa Correctional Institution for Women, in Mitchellville, Iowa. Worship is on Thursday evenings at 7 p.m. in the Sacred Place Chapel.

The diverse community is composed of women incarcerated at ICIW, men and women from around the State of Iowa who choose to worship together, and many volunteers who regularly support the ministries and programs. They gather together to share the teachings of Jesus Christ, and to experience the life transforming Spirit of God.

Our UMC History

The people of Asbury United Methodist Church are part of the second largest Protestant denomination in the United States. Our worldwide connection includes approximately 12.8 million members. The United Methodist Church was formed when the Methodist Church and the Evangelical United Brethren Church merged in 1968, but we trace our heritage back to the movement begun in 1729 in England by John and Charles Wesley.
