TLC NOVEMBER MISSION: “NOTHING BUT NETS”
The November TLC offering has been designated by our Global Ministries Committee to support “Nothing But Nets”. Since November 2006, the people of the United Methodist Church have raised enough to cover the cost of 335,000 nets. Every $10 raised pays for the purchase and distribution of a long-lasting, insecticide-treated mosquito net to a child under the age of five in Africa—one of whom dies every 30 seconds from malaria. Thank you for helping this very worthwhile outreach ministry by placing your pocket change in the TLC jars each Sunday morning in November. Thank you!

PURPOSE DRIVEN STEWARDSHIP FOR PURPOSE DRIVEN MINISTRIES
The 2012 Stewardship Drive has begun! As of Nov. 22 we have received 198 commitments totaling $409,939. This year we are looking at the many ministries of Asbury, their purpose and impact, and that with those ministries we are making a difference in God’s plan. In the past year the ministries have included: Children & Youth - 30,000, Adult - $156,000, Worship & Music - $187,000, Our Community - $100,000, and Our Nation & World - $145,000, for a total of $718,000. You should have received a letter highlighting the many Asbury ministries, along with a pledge card and return envelope. Please return your pledge card to the church by mail, bring it to the church office on weekdays, or drop it in the offering basket on Sunday mornings. You may also try our new email pledge form on the web at www.asbury-bett.org.

BODY & SOUL NEWS
We met for the final meeting of the fall session of Body and Soul on Wednesday, November 16th. We had a lot of fun learning about God's bible friends! I hope that the children have been able to tell you about the bible friends they have heard about in Body and Soul.

We will begin a new six week session of Body and Soul on January 11, 2012. We will continue to meet after the "All Church Meal" at approximately 5:45. I will be down in the Lower Fellowship Hall at 5:30 to start greeting anyone who is finished eating dinner or chooses not to partake in the meal.

I have really enjoyed the children this past session. They are truly a blessing!

If you have any questions or suggestions, please don't hesitate to call me at 441-9047 or email me at linda.rorke@yahoo.com.

AFGHANS FOR THE HOMELESS
Asbury members have created many beautiful and much appreciated afghans for the homeless in our community. Many hands have been busy creating squares for afghans, and now we are in need of help whip stitching the squares into afghans. At this time there are nine afghans to be whip stitched together. Brenda will be happy to show you how to whip stitch, it is very simple to do and there is no crocheting or knitting experience necessary. The afghans that are ready to be whip stitched are in bags in the coat closet by the church office, feel free to take a bag home and return it when you can. Please help with our ministry that supplies warm afghans for the homeless in our community.
