U.M.W. Annual Geranium Sale!

It’s that time of year once again to place your order for geraniums to be sold by Asbury United Methodist Women.

Order sheets will be available in both entryways on Sunday, April 20th, and April 27th.
Pick-up date is Wednesday, May 7th, from 1:00 to 5:00 pm, just in time for Mother’s Day!

Geraniums will be in 4 ½ inch pots at $5.00 each.
The variety of colors include red, pink, white, salmon, and hot pink.
Pots can be foil wrapped if ordered. Save room in your flower plans for us!

WITH PICK-UP ON MAY 7TH, FROM 1:00 TO 5:00 IN THE WEST NARTHEX.

Luminary Service of Remembrance

Whether it was yesterday or 30 years ago, losing a loved one is difficult.
We invite you to join us as we celebrate life and remember loved ones.

Luminary Service of Remembrance

Trinity Pathway Hospice is hosting its annual Luminary lighting
Memorial Service on Tuesday, April 29th at 7:30pm. The program will
take place by the Healing Gardens in the courtyard of
Trinity Medical Center’s Terrace Park facility.

A reception will begin at 7:30pm with a brief service and candle lighting at sundown.
Luminaries will be lit by hospice staff and volunteers, one at a time, as names are read.
There will be refreshments after the service.

The program will be moved inside in the event of adverse weather.
Volunteers will be available to assist people with disabilities.
The program is open to the community. Those being honored need
not have been involved with Trinity Pathway Hospice.

This is a time for all to gather to remember friends and loved ones who have died.

Luminaries may be ordered by mailing in the registration form below before April 25.

A $5.00 donation is suggested.

Chancel Choir Director

Asbury UMC is seeking a quarter-time Chancel Choir Director. Qualified candidates must have a strong choral music background with a Christian faith consistent with the beliefs and doctrines of the United Methodist Church. Additional qualifications needed include good organizational and communication skills, and an energetic & enthusiastic work style. A music degree or a degree in a related field is preferred, but not required. Please submit resume and references to:

FLU AND PNEUMONIA SHOTS

FLU AND PNEUMONIA SHOTS
Trinity’s Visiting Nurse and Homecare Assoc. (VNHA) will continue to give flu
or pneumonia shot in their office, 106 19th Ave., Suite 101, Moline, through
min-February. Flu shots will be provided at no cost for those providing
documentation of Medicare part B or $30 cash or check per person.
Pneumonia shots will be no cost to those providing documentation of
Medicare part B or $40 cash or check . To make an appointment, call
Trinity VNHA at (309) 779-7600. Flu activity does not usually reach its
peak in the U.S. until January or February, making this a good time to
get a flu vaccine. Flu activity can occur as late as May, so getting a vaccine l
ater in the season can still offer protection in most years.

COLLEGE MINISTRY FUND RAISER

We are once again offering Peel-A-Deal Fund Raising Cards that are valid at
ALL Quad City Papa Murphy’s Take ‘N’ Bake Pizza locations. The owners of the
Bettendorf and Davenport locations, Eric and Pat Melson, have generously offered
to allow us to keep the entire $5 for every $5 card sold. The cards never expire and
are over a $30 value. We will have cards available in the church office on
Sunday mornings or during the week. If you are interested in helping with the
college ministry, please call Deanne. We have a really fun time and could use
some extra help!

THANK YOU SALVATION ARMY BELL RINGERS!
Many thanks to all who rang the Salvation Army Bell at K & K Hardware this year.
The $7,915.00 that was collected in the bucket was greatly appreciated by the Salvation Army.
We were the number one Volunteer Bell Ringers in the Quad Cities!!!

Asbury Preschool Openings

Asbury Preschool has openings in the Tuesday-Thursday class for the 2007 fall school year. Children must be 3 years old by September 15, 2007. Anyone interested may call the church office at 355-5218 and ask for Miss Deb or Miss Linda.

Pastor Stephanie named to Churches United Board

Churches United of the Quad City Area has announced new board members serving two-year terms beginning March 2007.

The new board members were installed at the Churches United’s Delegate Assembly.

Congratulations to Asbury's Senior Pastor Stephanie Raphael Nakos. She and the other board members listed below will join 16 board members representing the larger ecumenical community.

Those new board members, in addition to Pastor Stephanie, include:
